How to Make Fenugreek (Methi) Fish
Fenugreek (Methi) Fish
| Super Nutritious and Easy Recipe |
I still remember how I used to hog on the Mc Donalds filet-o-fish burger when I was in school and then I was introduced to this super delicious fish curry at home. This fish recipe is most cherished by everyone in my home and also was my grandfather's favorite. Its super nutritious and easy to make. My grandfather taught this to my mum and she has passed it on to me.
I have used Surmai (King Seer) fish for this recipe as its rich in omega 3. Seer fish can be safely consumed once a week else you can go in for cat fish (Singara) or sardines as well.
Fish (Boneless): 300 gms surmai fish
Pink Salt: 1 Tablespoon for marination (Add more as per taste)
Turmeric: 1 Tablespoon for marination
Lemon Juice - 4 Tablespoon
Dry Fenugreek Leaves - 2 Tablespoon
Onion (Chopped) - 1
Tomato Puree - 8 Tablespoon
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 Tablespoon
Water - 2 small cups
Garam Masala - 1/2 Teaspoon
Coriander Leaves - 1/2 Cup
Coconut Oil - 1 Tablespoon
Instructions:
Clean the fish properly and marinate with turmeric, salt and lemon for 30 mins or more.
Saute onion, ginger garlic and fenugreek leaves in the oil on medium flame.
Add fish and cook it on low flame for 5 mins.
Add tomato puree, salt and pepper as per taste.
Cook for 5 mins and then add the water.
Continue cooking on low flame till the fish looks white in color.
Add the garam masala and garnish with coriander leaves
Its now ready to serve. Enjoy it with either rice or bread.
Cheers!
